The Department of Dravyaguna, Motherhood Ayurveda Medical College, Roorkee, organized a one-day educational visit to Patanjali Research Foundation on 21 August 2026, aimed at providing students of batch 2023-24 with valuable practical exposure to medicinal plants and their applications. The visit offered an enriching opportunity to connect classroom learning with hands-on experience in the field of Dravyaguna.

During the visit, students observed and studied a variety of herbal and medicinal plants and gained practical insights into their identification, collection, preservation, and proper storage techniques. They were also introduced to the systematic preparation of herbarium sheets, including the collection, processing, mounting, labeling, and preservation of plant specimens for academic documentation.

The students were accompanied by Prof. (Dr.) Dinesh Chandra Singh, Head of the Department; Dr. Ranjana Jaisingh, Associate Professor; Dr. Swati Jagotra, Assistant Professor; and Mr. Lokesh Dauriyal, Chief Pharmacist. Their guidance and interaction throughout the visit contributed significantly to making the experience informative and academically enriching.

The visit served as a meaningful practical learning experience, enhancing students’ understanding of medicinal plant identification, documentation, preservation, and their significance in Ayurvedic education.
